About:
The formula combines Hypericum perforatum (St John's Wort) together with Magnesium, Ginkgo biloba and the amino acids L-Tyrosine and L-Glutamine. Recent work suggests that Hypericum perforatum also has anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. Today much of the research directed at Hypericum in regard to its anti-viral properties has focussed on hypericin and pseudohypericin. Chemically, these compounds are anthroquinones and their effects are substantially increased by exposure to light. Their anti-viral effect is believed to relate to the production of oxygen free radicals within the cells, which damage the enveloping protective membrane of somne viruses. In this respect, hypericin appears to enhance the body's own enzyme-based anti-viral mechanisms.
